Side by Each is a 98 min. comedy filmed in the gorgeous ocean state of Rhode Island, with its many humorous characters. One is the philosophic Salty [Larry Bryggman], who just wants to launch his live-in boat and sail off. But crooks buy the boatyard to turn it into condos and, needing to move, he meets and falls for marina artist and sailor Daisy [Blythe Danner]. Not knowing she's one of triplet siblings, he involves himself with some of her seemingly shady acquaintances and it sets off comic consequences along the waterfront. It's a charming world of crime and beauty, where misunderstandings abound and the people all seem parked 'side by each,' like their coastline and sea, always and never the same together. And the story is, that out of all the many characters in the movie, only Daisy can see beyond Salty's outward straits and into his philosophy, that the ocean is alive, our ancestral home, and the one enormous gentleness that holds everything we care about together.
